Miniature Punchneedle Embroidery is a needlework technique, which uses a hollow, threaded needle to punch into woven fabric and create miniature hooked rugs. The Ancient Egyptians used hollow bird wings to as needles to practice this technique. Embroidery floss and wool thread are more commonly used today to create these charming miniatures.

With our rich needlework history in mind, these Miniature Punchneedle Patterns are reproductions or adaptations of historic textile pieces. Each pattern includes: design drawn on weaver's cloth, instructions, finishing suggestions, thread conversion chart, pin-back for 1-thread designs, and provenance of the design.
