PENNY RUG RAG DOLLS
Anna and Jacob are reproductions of rag dolls made in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Homemade dolls are part of a long tradition of pioneer and colonial life when mothers and grandmothers created them with hoarded scraps of cloth. The finished rag dolls are 10" high.

SPRING CHICKENS PENNY RUG
Spring Chickens is a reproduction of a wool applique table rug made in 1850. Flowers and animals inspired early needlework designs that were used on rugs, curtains, bed hangings, and many other appliqued objects. The finished penny rug is 15" x 25", lined, and signed.

18TH CENTURY BOUQUET PENNY RUG
The 18th Century Bouquet Penny Rug is a reproduction of a 1770 crewel bed linen piece. Flowers and herbals inspired early needlework designs that were used on rugs, curtains, bed hangings, and many other smaller objects. The finished penny rug is 18”square.

COUNTRY MORNING PENNY RUG
The Country Morning Penny Rug is an adaptation of an 1853 Medley quilt piece. Cottages, flowers, trees, animals, and birds were popular stitching themes during colonial and Victorian times. The finished penny rug is 14” x 18” and has two background layers with scalloped edge.

ANTIQUE FLORAL VINE PENNY RUG
The Antique Floral Vine Penny Rug is an adaptation of a 1778 crewel wedding bed rug. The original piece was made with hand loomed wool and covered with crewel-embroidered flowers. The finished penny rug is 16” x 20”.

BIRD IN A WREATH PENNY RUG
The Bird in a Wreath Penny Rug is a reproduction of an 1852 Baltimore Presentation Quilt piece. The original quilt was made with elaborate appliqué on hand dyed homespun and also included baskets, fruit, cornucopias, an eagle, and even a steamboat. The finished penny rug is 21” in diameter.

THE RED FLOWERS PENNY RUG
The Red Flowers penny rug pillow is a reproduction of an 1845 wool applique rug. Early American LIfe Magazine selected this design for publication in their June 2006 issue. It was also chosen for their 2006 Directory of American Crafts, a juried group of the 200 top American craftsmen. The finished penny rug is 20" x 25" and truly lovely.
